Brand Highlight- The North Face Apparel

Introduction

As we face the middle of winter, it's important to find the right clothes and footwear for the outdoors. The North Face company creates jackets, outerwear, headgear and boots that both look stylish and keep users warm. Learn more about what makes The North Face apparel and other products stand out from its rivals.

About The North Face

The North Face was founded in 1966, at which time there weren't that many clothing companies with a focus on outdoor and hiking apparel. Their tagline is "Never Stop Exploring" and their products range from jackets and boots to camping gears to help their customers explore nature. VF Corporation bought out The North Face in 2000. The North Face currently owns approximately 130 retail stores and recorded 3.6 billion dollars in revenue for the fiscal year ending in March 2024.

The company is very committed to sustainability. The majority of their products are made from recyclable materials. They also offer The North Face Renewed, a program at select stores where people can buy recycled apparel or buy or bring in clothes that are gently used to be sold.

Jackets and Outerwear

The North Face gives their customers a variety of jackets to suit their needs. Parkas, ski jackets and puffer jackets are popular winter coats. Bomber jackets and Terra Peak jackets are thick enough to keep you warm and are also waterproof. Most of these jackets are made from recycled nylon and polyester. Hoodies and fleece jackets remain favorites to wear in cold weather and are made with organic cotton.

The North Face also carries innovative jackets called Antora Triclimate jackets. The jackets feature dual layers (outer polyester shell and an inner fleece liner jacket) that keep wearers insulated and dry from the rain or snow.

Boots and Shoes

The North Face ensures their customers have the essential winter footwear. That includes sneakers ideal for hiking the mountain trails or for everyday use walking through snowy streets. They also produce hiking boots and snow boots. Many boots come with HeatseekerTM  insulation to keep the feet warm and  SURFACE CTRL™ outsole for better traction on slippery surfaces. The VECTIV Fastbreak hiking boot, seen below, has an advanced sole technology for added stability and bounce so the hiker can keep moving forward.

Bags and Gears

For those people who vacation during the winter, The North Face offers backpacks and duffle bags to carry their items. Hikers and mountain climbers might prefer fanny packs or crossover bags and consider bringing a gear box as well. Vacationers going camping in warmer climate areas should use water-repellent tents, sleeping bags and insulated blankets to keep warm when sitting outside.
