Product Spotlight - Fun Items And Ideas For A Family Halloween

Introduction

Halloween ranks high among children's favorite holidays and parents should join in the fun. Whether it's picking pumpkins out of a pumpkin patch or dressing up in scary costumes, Halloween offers families a perfect opportunity to spend an enjoyable day together. Take a look at the fun items and ideas for a family Halloween and choose the right activities for you and your children.

Costumes and Accessories

Most people associate Halloween with costumes. While costumes usually are geared towards children, many retailers and suppliers provide costumes for adults too. Therefore, parents should consider dressing up along with their children. Maybe the family can dress alike or share the same theme. Families can dress up as skeletons, vampires or even your favorite animals. Fun World manufactures police officer Halloween costumes for both parents and their children.

If you rather not wear a full-blown costume, consider using makeup. For example, apply white face paint and fake blood to look like a zombie. For those who don't want to dress up in costume at all, they can still wear jack-o-lantern or black cat t-shirts or wear Halloween-themed socks, pajamas and jewelry.

Food, Drinks, and Cookware

Many kids look forward to getting candy on Halloween; therefore, parents should give them bags or buckets (maybe one designed like a cauldron or pumpkin). For trick-or-treating. Candy isn't the only tasty snack. Families might bake cookies or cupcakes featuring Halloween designs. Go to an apple orchard to collect enough apples to make candied apples. For Halloween breakfast, use a Dash Pumpkin Mini Waffle Maker to create pumpkin-shaped waffles.

For drinks, pumpkin spice lattes remain popular beverages for adults and they can drink from a mug with a witch or ghost design on it. Children can drink their favorite juice and use skull ice cube mold trays to add appropriately themed ice cubes to their drinks.

Decorations and Activities

Families might enjoy working together to decorate their house. Go to a pumpkin patch to pick up pumpkins for the front porch. Then parents can help their children either carve or paint faces on the pumpkins. Other outdoor decorations include spiderweb wall designs, gravestones or mummies made out of toilet paper. For indoor decorations, consider pumpkin spice-scented candles, Halloween-themed blanket throws with black or orange pillows and tablecloths with a witch design and matching witches' hat centerpieces.

Families might participate in Halloween activities. Parents might read scary stories to their children or watch scary movies. Much like Easter egg hunts, have a Halloween candy hunt where children look for candy in baskets or plastic containers. Check out haunted houses in your area.
